Welcome to the sale of this outstanding and rare Limited Edition Cayman S Sport Manual Coupe
Just 700 of these special cars were produced worldwide, and there were reportedly only 69 C16 UK delivered cars like this one.
Many were also tiptronic making the manual version even more sought after
Porsche borrowed the colour pallet plus alcantara interior parts direct from the 997 GT3 RS, and gave the car a slight increase in horsepower to 303bhp.
The model also included some great options as standard including PASM, a switchable sports exhaust, Sport Chrono and wheel spacers all round.
This particular car also came with the exceptionally rare and valuable carbon fibre tilting bucket seats, later found in the GT4’s
It was also generously specified with BOSE audio, PCM Navigation Plus, CD Changer, Rear park assist and Bi Xenon headlights
With just 3 former keepers, always serviced at Porsche and in the launch colour of GT3 Orange we went a little mad making this car even more special
Over the last couple of months we have carried out the following work and added some great upgrades
Full low mileage 987 PCCB conversion including correct hubs and master cylinder – discs are like new – cost circa £5K
Whilst we had all the components in hand we fully refurbished all the calipers in the same GT3 orange with new black decals lacquered in.
New pagid RSC Brake pads fitted all round (Nearly £1000 worth!!)
All new brake pad wear sensors and anti squeel shims were fitted at the same time and everything else refurbished
4 new Orange braided brake hoses were fitted before carrying out a full brake bleed using PIWIS – the brakes are now phenomenal!
We removed and rebuilt all 4 dampers with new top mounts and bump stops plus fitted new H&R springs all round
A new set of H&R anti roll bars were also fitted at the same time and a carbon fibre strut brace added to make the handling even sharper
We focused on improving the cooling system by fitting a new low temperature thermostat, all new coolant crossover lines at the front and finished off by adding a 997 centre radiator
We sourced the wider optional Carrera wheels (As found on the Cayman S Sport in the Porsche Museum)
We had the wheels fully stripped and finished in solid black, then wrapped them in near new N Rated Michelins Pilot Sports then had the wheels ceramic coated to protect them
We also stud converted the car to limit the chances of chipping a disc and save messing around with rusty bolts and locking wheel nuts.
Moving onto the engine we have just carried out a major service, fitted new spark plugs plus Beru Coilpacks X6 and changed the oil twice!
To finish off we fitted 200 cell sports cats with new Lambda sensors and treated the car to a full stainless steel switchable sports exhaust (Sounds incredible)
Whilst we had exhaust off we thought we would check the clutch
We ended up fitting a billet aluminium lightweight flywheel with ARP bolts and new 3 piece sachs clutch
We also checked the IMS bearing and plucked out the seal allowing it to now be splash lubricated (It was in great shape)
As a lavish complement to the Carbon seats we sourced a full carbon fibre Autofarm bootlid and added the Cayman S Sport decal in orange
The difference in weight of this over the standard bootlid is incredible and it also looks stunning
As you may have guessed we didnt go this mad with the car with a plan to sell it, but a certain GT3 has been offered to us and so we will have to let this go to make space
Someone is going to get one of the best Gen 1 987 Caymans worldwide and can go out and enjoy it knowing everything is properly sorted.
It is an absolute bargain at £33995 – the Seats and Brakes are worth over £10K alone!
The car comes with both original keys, all original books and manuals including the PCCB and carbon seat leaflets – we also sourced the original launch brochure for the car
It will come with a 6 month warranty and new MOT – we can also arrange for nationwide delivery and offer competitive finance if required.
