We are delighted to be offering for sale this simply wonderful 2.7 “S” Targa

First delivered on the 31st of March 1976 through Merlin Olsen Porsche/Audi Inc in Caifornia, a lucky Mr Bramberg specified factory options S47, Koni Shock absorbers and Front fog lights, to complement the already impressive S specification.

The standard features of the car included fuel injection, capacitive discharge ignition, 4 wheel vented disc brakes, pressure cast alloy wheels, front spoiler, front and rear stablisers, tinted glass all round, an outside power mirror with electric defroster, rear window defogger, independant four-wheel suspension, transistorised tachometer, quartz clock, stereo speakers in doors, undercoating, electronically controlled speedo, rack and pinion steering, trip odometer, reclining bucket seats, cut pile carpets and an intermittent wiper cycle.

We are so pleased to find a transparent history file with the car, dating right back to the orginal bill of sale showing a grand total of $18024.21.

There are simply too many invoices to relay all of the works completed over the years but most notable works as follow

1976 – 1981 Many Porsche invoices and still owned by Mr Brumberg
1980’s – A new owner investing in many typical wear and tear items (New koni dampers for example)
1990’s Many more standard parts replaced, upgraded oil cooler with special side scoop plus Perma Tune ignition system
2000-2010 – Second mirror fitted, Upgraded 930 steering wheel, 930 turbo tie rods added, many fuel system and other mechanical parts replaced
2016 @ 91415 miles Over $4000 spent – fuel system replacement (Warm up and fuel pressure regulators) A tarrot engineering rear anti roll bar was installed, oil leaks were attended to and a full and healthy compression test completed.

It was in late 2016 that the car was imported into the UK, and from dissecting the US history it appears to have had just 5 keepers there in 40 years.

In early 2017 the new UK owner began a very comprehensive refresh with marque specialists Jaz Porsche.

In total circa £10K was spent on ensuring everything worked correctly and clearly preparing the car to be ready for a road rally or two.
Bilstein Club sport dampers were fitted, all brake discs and pads were replaced along with braided brake lines, Mobil brake fliuid, and a new master cylinder installed ensuring the brakes were better than new.
The ignition leads were renewed and alternator refurbished, many smaller items were attended to and even intermittent wiper switches replaced, hoses rerouted and new parts fabricated where necessary. Brantz timing gear was fitted and we can only presume someone enjoyed a brilliant few thousand miles.
Fast forward to June 2020 the car had now completed just over 95k miles and now in the hands of one of our good customers.
We fell in love as soon as we saw it and made some suggestions to further improve its good looks.
We added classic Carrera side decals to complement a new ductail spoiler, a correct 1974 metal Carrera rear badge was sourced, along with a 5 bar grille with 2.7 emblem.
The air injection system was correctly deleted as it had a slight leak, we also attended to some small oil leaks, and fitted new RHD Euro headlamps with correct Bosch lenses.
The finishing touch was to install a state of the art new Blaupunkt SQR DAB radio with Bluetooth and iPhone connectivity.
The car now looks as well as it drives and could be easily enjoyed everyday.
We are offering the car at a smashing price as there are still some further improvements that could be made, structurally the car is rock solid having spent most of its life in California, and remains very original throughout, however the paint is showing some signs of age and previous touch ups, and the American over riders have simply been replaced without painting the bumpers.
That said the car still presents extremely well and catches eyes wherever it goes.
