We are delighted to be offering this exciting and striking early 911 RS Replica
Manufactured in the month of May 1972 it was then subsequently delivered to Germany and sold very shortly after on the 1st of June.
Although a lot of the paperwork with the car indicates it as being a 911 E, we can confirm from the chassis number, that it was once, and still is in fact a 911 T.
It was delivered in light yellow, sporting forged lightweight 6×15 alloys, stabilisers front and rear, sports seats left and right, and black Porsche decals down each flank
There is mention that it was once owned by an American serviceman and also made its way to Holland, where it wore the registration DM-28-87
At the turn of the millennium it found its way to the UK, and in 2003 was bought by Porsche specialist Dave Dennet, who began the transformation of the car you see here today.
Purchased with a damaged engine, Dave had sourced a good 911 E unit, and treated it to a comprehensive rebuild (Photos in file) to include special forged pistons bringing the power output up to around 165 bhp
Over the next few years many more parts were added and include
Rallye ST Black seats with corduroy centres and headrests
5 Point racing harnesses
A half roll cage
Limited Slip Differential
Lightweight fibreglass bonnet boot and front wings
7 & 8 15″ Fuchs wheels including a spare
Turbo track control arms
In 2005 the car changed hands before meeting its most recent owner a Mr Swain in 2008.
Since purchasing the car, Mr Swain has spent in excess of £15K preparing the car for European trips and road rallies, mostly with marque specialists Francis Tuthill.
There is a lovely history file in chronological order from 1999 detailing every part that the car has had, and still carries with it today.
Most notable and recent items being new Bilstein dampers, gearbox rebuild in 2012 and brakes overhauled with new calipers
Virtually every MOT dating back to 2003 confirm it has covered approx. 15000 miles since.
It is an exhilarating and rewarding car to drive, and weighing in at just 1000Kg’s, has both the performance and ability to tip toe its way past many, more modern day rivals.
We are offering the car for sale at a fraction of the price of a real RS, and no doubt less than a good standard 911T, this allows a buyer to choose his own path for this car, whether it be to continue with the RS theme, build a hot rod, return it back to an original T, or just have great fun with it exactly as it is. Whatever the decision it will no doubt provide many years of enjoyment.
With so many of these cars now being returned to a factory look, finding a solid and well prepared period correct replica is becoming increasingly difficult, and it would not only be very costly, but a shame to tear apart a standard car and create the car you see here today.
So why not call us today to secure this cracking little road racer, once it has sold we cannot promise we can find another like it!
Viewing and test drives by appointment, some driver skill will be required
